Prof. Washizaki joined IEEE Congress on SERVICES 2024 sponsored by IEEE-CS and others in Shenzhen for a remark and software services engineering panel. We have been reminded of services’ critical role in our increasingly digitalized and AI-empowered world. The congress comprises different but related technical conferences and symposiums ranging from edge, cloud, and web service computing as well as emerging quantum software, crucial domains such as digital health, and necessary education for future generations. Thanks to all organizers and attendees, such a great conference!

We will hold the 1st International Workshop on Patterns and Practices of Reliable AI Engineering and Governance (AI-Pattern’24) Oct 28 in Tsukuba, Japan, co-located with IEEE ISSRE 2024. Submission due date is July 28th. We receive a variety of papers ranging from 2-page position papers to 8-page full papers.

At IEEE COMPSAC 2024, Prof. Washizaki joined the D&I panel and talked about “Charting a Course for Equity: Strategies for Overcoming Challenges and Promoting Inclusion in the Metaverse”. Furthermore, M1 Sasaki presented his paper titled “A Taxonomy and Review of Prompt Engineering Patterns in Software Engineering”.

As the IEEE-CS President-Elect and Co-Chair of one of the symposiums, SIoT, Prof. Washizaki joined the IEEE COMPSAC 2024 Osaka, which is the IEEE-CS signature conference with IPSJ and other sponsors — many thanks to all authors, presenters, participants, sponsors, organizers, and local committees. There have been 300+ submissions and around 500 participants!
