At HKUST, Hong Kong, Huawei Huang, Dusit Niyato, Yi Sun, and Hironori Washizaki organized the BlockNetSys 2025: ACM CoNEXT Workshop on Blockchain-Network Synergy. Thanks to all participants and contributors, notably Yijun Lu and other supporters, we had a great start to the community, bridging different but related areas such as Blockchain, networks, AI, and autonomous systems. Prof. Washizaki presented his keynote there.

Based on the exceptional achievement of IEEE Computer Society Professional Education & Activities Board led by VP Dr. Cyril Onwubiko with all experts, the Computer Society is awarded the IEEE EAB Society/Council Professional Development Award at the ceremony co-located with the IEEE meeting series in NYC. Congratulations to Cyril, the PEAB leadership, contributors, staff, and everyone involved! This award is a well-deserved recognition of CS/PEAB’s outstanding contributions and unwavering commitment to education and professional development at every stage of the professional journey.

At the ACM/IEEE SC’25 St. Louis, the IEEE Computer Society held a top-level meeting with ACM President Prof. Yannis Ioannidis and ACM’s Chief Operating Officer Pat Ryan. We discussed and confirmed our long-term partnership and planned expanding our collaboration.

Co-located with the IEEE Computer Society Board of Governors meeting in St. Louis, the CS was honored to present the awards to the distinguished experts from our community. Congratulations!

Prof. Washizaki attended the SC’25 conference in beautiful St. Louis. SC is the largest conference sponsored by IEEE Computer Society together with ACM. We honored outstanding individuals from our community with the IEEE Computer Society Awards: the Sidney Fernbach Memorial Award for Dr. Ewa Deelman and the Seymour Cray Computer Engineering Award for Dr. John Shalf.

Furthermore, Prof. Washizaki had a chance to give an introductory talk on the SWEBOK Guide at the Research Software Engineers in HPC.

Prof. Washizaki held the IEEE Computer Society ExCom and Board of Governors meetings in beautiful St. Louis. The committees successfully reflected on the achievements and potential improvements of this incredible year 2025 and envisioned the strategic directions and action items for 2026.
