Prof. Washizaki is honored to be appointed as the Senior Honorary Advisor of Asia Pacific Science and Technology Association 亚太科学技术协会 (APSTA), which is an international academic organization that brings together top scientists, domain experts, industry leaders, and fintech innovators across the Asia-Pacific region.

Prof. Washizaki was invited to join and provide my keynote at the 2nd International Symposium on Software Fault Prevention, Verification, and Validation (SFPVV 2025). Toshiya presented his paper.

Prof. Washizaki was invited to join and provide my keynote at the 2nd International Symposium on Software Fault Prevention, Verification, and Validation (SFPVV 2025, organized by Shaoying Liu (Chair), Tadashi Dohi, Geguang Pu, Tsuchiya Tatsuhiro, Yuting Chen, and Hiroyuki Okamura, with keynote speakers Jian Zhang and me), at the Dishui Lake International Software Engineering Institute, East China Normal University, in Shanghai. Furthermore, Master course student Toshiya presented his paper titled “Data-driven and Scenario-based Risk Analysis Considering Uncertainty in Machine Learning Systems.” It was an excellent opportunity to meet with old and new friends in software engineering, with a particular focus on program analysis and verification in the era of AI and quantum computing, and to grow the community, particularly in China, Japan, and other areas. Thank you for organizing such an inspiring symposium and having us, and see you all at the next SFPVV 2026 in Ehime!

As the IEEE Computer Society President, together with Director Eric Berkowitz, Prof. Washizaki was invited to the great 22nd anniversary of the CCF China National Computer Congress (CNCC) 2025, in beautiful Harbin, China. The IEEE CS and the China Computer Federation have a long history of partnership going back more than a decade. International collaboration is vital to the advancement of the computing community, and the partnership among all these societies and organizations plays a crucial role in that effort. Congratulations, thank you for having us, and let’s expand our collaboration and envision the future together, contributing to humanity and broader society via computing!

Prof. Washizaki joined the IEEE Symposium on Emerging Metaverse (ISEMV 2025, General and Program Chairs: Jeewika Ranaweera, Dejan Milojicic, Louis Nisiotis, Karen Alexander, Yervant Zorian, with great keynotes and invited talks by Joaquim Jorge, Emile Loza de Siles, and Ravinder S. Dahiya) in beautiful Hawaii, sponsored by IEEE DataPort, VTS, EDS, WIE, organized by IEEE Metaverse, Future Directions and IEEE Computer Society. During the event, Prof. Washizaki took part in an exciting panel chaired by Cecilia Metra with distinguished panelists, including Joaquim Jorge, Rick Kazman, Rakesh Kumar, Yoshiko Yasuda, and Yervant Zorian. The panel provided a great overview of challenges and future directions of the Metaverse. The overall symposium was highly interdisciplinary, reflecting the nature of the Metaverse, from sensors to societal values. It was a great conference!
