This is the team 2023. Our lab had a great year-end party. Surprisingly, the students gave Prof. Washizaki his birthday gifts!

Our paper, “Software-Engineering Design Patterns for Machine Learning Applications,” has been awarded the 2022 Best Paper Award from the IEEE-CS’s Flagship Magazine, IEEE Computer! It is a great honor to receive the award, and a great recognition of the JST MIRAI eAI project and its framework team.

Prof. Washizaki presented keynote titled SWEBOK Guide Evolution and Its Emerging Areas including Machine Learning Patterns at 30th Asia-Pacific Software Engineering Conference (APSEC 2023), Keynote, Seoul, Korea, Dec 4-7, 2023. Furthermore, a student Pan presented our paper on the detection of machine learning design patterns by ML.

Prof. Washizaki reported the result of IEEE CSEE&T2023 Tokyo at the IPSJ-SIGSE meeting Takamatsu. It was a truly great conference, with a lot of stimulating talks, discussions, and social networking. See you next year in Würzburg, Germany, CSEE&T 2024. Its abstract submission due date is January 28th.

Prof. Washizaki provided his invited talk about SWEBOK Evolution and Machine Learning Software Engineering at Symposium on Machine Intelligence for Future Society 2023, celebrating 10 years of Top Global University project Frontier of Embodiment Informatics.

Prof. Washizaki provided his keynote titled “Smart SE” with Curricula Matching” at ICEEL 2023. The talk explained the gap between the University reference curriculum model and Industrial skill needs.
