Prof. Washizaki delivered his invited talk, titled “Technology Predictions and Software Engineering with Blockchain,” at the International Conference on Ubiquitous Trusted Intelligence (UTI2026), Beijing and online.

IEEE CISOSE 2026 and the IEEE Future Technology Summit 2026 Fukuoka, sponsored and supported by the IEEE Computer Society, took place. Prof. Washizaki delivered his opening remarks to celebrate not only the 22nd and 12th editions of the SOSE conference and the CISOSE congress, but also the IEEE Computer Society’s 80th anniversary.

The lab members had a great time bowling! The greatest value of a lab lies not only in its research activities and outcomes, but in its people—the opportunity to build trust, exchange ideas, inspire one another, and enjoy being together as a team.

We held the SmartSE seminar on CyBOK and security. Dr. Yulia provided us with an amazing tutorial on the Cyber Security Body of Knowledge: CyBOK. Prof. Washizaki presented the related security knowledge area of the SWEBOK Guide (a product of the IEEE Computer Society). We had a great discussion and a start of further collaboration among BoKs and the community.

IEEE Computer Society’s flagship conference, IEEE SERVICES 2026 Sydney, is taking place. Prof. Washizaki provided his opening remarks to celebrate not only the 23rd edition of the SERVICES congress but also the 80th anniversary of the IEEE Computer Society.

Dr. Yulia Cherdantseva, who leads the development and evolution of the #CyBOK, will provide us with a tutorial on the CyBOK: Cyber Security Body of Knowledge on July 21st in a hybrid format: online and at Waseda University in Tokyo. Furthermore, I will explain the software security knowledge area of the Software Engineering Body of Knowledge (#SWEBOK Guide) V4.0a, which is related to the CyBOK.

CyBOK was inspired by SWEBOK and has evolved in its own direction to provide a comprehensive and internationally recognized body of knowledge for the discipline. For example, in the UK, CyBOK provides the knowledge foundation for National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) initiatives, including cyber security degree certification and the assurance of professional training.
